Staying at MGM Macau
MGM Macau rises on the southern waterfront of the Macau Peninsula, its layered metallic façade stepping upward like a wave caught mid-fall. The arrival is the strongest moment of the stay: the Grande Praça, a lofty atrium under a glass roof, borrows the arcades, cobbles and pastel frontages of a Portuguese town square and lets daylight spill across them. Tower rooms are calm and well proportioned, and higher floors look over the water toward Taipa and its bridges.
The resort treats art as part of the furniture, with pieces placed along public corridors and around the atrium, so even the walk to breakfast offers something to study. A spa and a pool give the afternoon a slower gear. Beyond the doors, the old core of the peninsula is close: Senado Square, the stone face of St. Paul's and lanes of almond-biscuit bakeries can fill a morning, and a taxi shortens the trip in summer heat. Gaming rooms sit apart from the hotel lifts.
